Howdy, I’m Gemma!

I’m drawn to stories rooted in place—stories that ask us to slow down, look closer, and consider our relationship to landscape, culture, and history.

I’m a communications specialist, photographer, and researcher with experience across outdoor, documentary, and nonprofit spaces. I earned my Master of Arts in Mass Communications, where my research focused on social media, public lands, and the commodification of wild spaces. That research continues to shape how I think about ethics, representation, and audience engagement in my professional work.

I’ve produced field content for PBS, supported communications strategy and content creation for outdoor and nonprofit organizations, and worked across photography, writing, and digital storytelling. I bring a thoughtful, research-informed approach to every project—balancing creative intuition with clarity, care, and intention.

When I’m not working, I’m usually outside, in a museum, or paying close attention to how people move through the world.

Outside of work, I love strong coffee, early mornings, public land, getting lost in a craft-ernoon, and dancing in a kitchen with people I love.

Let’s create something meaningful together!
